SPEEDLIMITER
THE SVR FLEET TELEMATICS DEVICE INCLUDES THE FUNCTIONALITY OF SPEED LIMITING.
INTRODUCTION
The speed is set by the fleet administrator, via CellStop’s Control Centre, per group or per individual vehicle. The CellStop Customer support centre shall set the default speed, to be managed as instructed by the authorized client representative.
SPEED LIMITER FUNCTIONALITY DESCRIPTION:
Maximum allowable speed can be set per vehicle. The set speed is defined as “SS”. (For example 120 km/h is used. As the device uses GPS true speed, the speed set shall be GPS speed. The vehicle speed indicated on the speedometer can be viewed as an instantaneous speed, which normally would be within 5% to 10% of this true speed.) With the vehicle approaching the SS, an audible warning will sound inside the vehicle, set just before reaching SS.
(SO WITH SS BEING 120 KM/H, IT SHALL SOUND AT 117 KM/H).
When the vehicle then is pushed to keep accelerating at SS (120 km/h), the fuel supply is managed to reduce the vehicle power and maintain the SS speed.
Should the vehicle be pushed to exceed the set speed, in the case of going downhill etc. the limiter shall drastically reduce or momentarily starve the fuel, without turning off the engine to maintain all braking power and a continuous audible alarm will sound.
Once limiting has reduced speed to below SS (115 km/h), the alarm will stop and vehicle operation will revert back to normal. The SVR Fleet software shall fully record speed exceeding, time duration, time, date and position and with driver tags fitted, define the driver involved.
