COMPANY PROFILE
he concept of using GSM for vehicle security and tracking was pioneered by CellStop in 1998. From the first interactive alarm/immobilisor and tracking system to a full talking interactive system, CellStop has moved into the area of focused Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR), fleet management and specialized open cast mining solutions,
CellStop patented a system for the safe immobilization of moving vehicles and registered the patent both in South Africa and overseas. The system allows a vehicle owner or an authorised control centre to initiate an immobilization sequence which slows the vehicle down and ultimately immobilises the vehicle completely. Whilst this is happening, vehicles in the vicinity are warned by flashing hazards and the occupants of the vehicle are warned by means of a buzzer.
CellStop’s Logo “CELLSTOP, YOU HOLD THE POWER”, drives the whole philosophy of our products. Unlike the traditional SVR and fleet management market, where the devices fitted to the vehicle are “dumb Terminals” with all management done at server level, CellStop provides enormous functionality to the owner / fleet manager with their ability to interrogate the vehicle directly from their cellphone i.e. locate it, health check it and receive daily reports on their cellphone of the vehicles movements for the day. For the busy manager or interested executive, the feature empowers them whilst they are on the road or travelling. The feature has become so successful that Taxi owners are insisting they have a CellStop fitted to their vehicle to enhance their business management.
CellStop has grown its business by focusing its activities outside of South Africa, opening up businesses in Nigeria, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Swaziland. This list of territories grows as our unique product functionality is understood and requested. Our experience across Africa and the pioneering done in Africa over the last 9 years makes us one of the most experienced partners in Africa for Tracking and Fleet Management.
